Round robin

It is kinda sad!~! I finished a round robin and it ready to go home. I got mine back (The one with the cute sheep already hung outside ). I guess I am ready for the next one!

This week I worked on California cross roads and started a new mystery quilt at quiltville.com. I am using all 1930's repo fabrics, so I think this one would be kinda cool! Right now I am making 933 HST!

What's one more??

OK when you have one.... what's one more??

It's been a crummy week!

Well, I finally had had enuf! I have several scrap tubs and 3 plastic grocery bags full of scraps. I sewed all my crumbs together that was in the grocery bags and ended up with a little more than 130 or so blocks. It took about a week to get through them. I still have 3 grocery bags full of crumbs and I am scratching my head trying to figure out how they multiplied! hmmmmmmmm???? Is there a magic crummy fairy??

This week was also my sons birthday. He is home on vacation from the navy "leave" for one month. He bought himself a chocolate tick beagle. He named him RED. I am so glad because the second choice was "nuggent" (as in Ted Nuggent). He is absolutely adorable but I am banned from playing with him cause the boys told me I might mess his "nose" up! Have you ever heard anything so silly?? But while they are away I get my cuddle time!

Visit with our son

Even though we had a bad experience with the motel, the visit was nice. We got to see the base and Lake Michigan is so pretty even from the other side!~! ROFL

Chapel was great and the music and choir did a great job! There is so much to do! Just getting to see your sailor is worth the visit!

The worst motel in America

This one takes the cake. I had to make an emergency visit to see my son who is in the navy on the Great Lakes Naval base. The only motel that had a room was: the econo lodge on North green bay road. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!!!

The room they first gave wouldn't open up. Then when he brought the master key it smelled so bad! It smelled like paint, smoking and MOLD!~! I have asthma and had booked a no-smoking room.

The sink wouldn't drain, it leaked on my bags and the carpet. The ceiling tiles were missing, falling out. The light fixture was missing in the bathroom and only had one bulb. The carpet was filthy with stuff all over it. I didn't take my flip flops off! The furniture was filthy and I put a towel over it to sit on. The no smoking room had a ash tray on the desk. I had to use my inhalers several times, thank-goodness I remembered to bring them!

There was no bags to put dirty laundry in. No iron, no hangers to hang your clothes on. Fireworks went off at 02:00, those illegal kind that go BOOOOOOOM!~!~!

The FREE breakfast was:

plain bagels. a big jar of peanut butter for everyone to use. a tub of cream cheese for everyone to use. Orange juice. and the coffee was in a machine you had to PAY FOR! Needless to say. I was so sickened and heart broken we had to live in this arrangement as I tried to book another hotel and they were full for graduations.

So do not book this place!

Joe's Quilt

Here is the quilt top I made for Joe. I think I might trash this and make another one. Maybe guitars??

OK back from graduation. Have been working like crazy to get $$ to go see Joe again. Worked on the RR's and BOM's. The first photo is a pix of us the train station. The next is Joe, his father, little brother, uncle didi (quite the joker with the rabbit ears) and hidden is auntie Janet all looking out the sears tower window in Chicago, IL.

The shoe Queen

I have to admit it, I am a shoe hoarder. I cleaned out my closets, looked under my bed. Dug through my sewing room, checked the mud room, located a few in the back of my van and even located a pair in the garage. I am the shoe queen!~!. I cannot pass up a good pair of shoes! I cannot buy an outfit with out getting matching shoes. I have 64 plus pairs. My name is Paulette and I am an admitted shoe hog.
