RULERS!

Rulers! Has anyone really stopped and thought for a moment on how many rulers there are for making "quilting easy"??
I counted and I am up to 24 different rulers!

I took a quilt class only to be told I needed another ruler! To make "perfect" flying geese.
OK, so how many rulers are there for making flying geese??

I own The companion angle, Easy angle, Easy star & geese by Kimberly Einmo, The wonder cut ruler and I even own 2 of Eleanor Burn's "Quilt in a day" flying geese rulers! Now in order to make "perfect" flying geese I was told that I needed to buy the "Flying geese x4 NO MATH Ruler"
O MY WORD!
What do you think??

JESSE IS SICK

The craziest things have been happening! Since New Years Jesse has been having these abdominal pains, right out of the blue it will hit him. Well today it happened again. The school called me and I went to pick him up. I drove right over to his DR's office. She ordered a chest xray, a surgical consult and EKG. We went first to get the chest xray. He was complaining he had some chest pain.
After he was done, the tech came out and said: "Mom you need to go right home, do not take him any where else do you understand me???" and she was bobbing her head up and down like one of those bobble heads. Next thing I knew I was bobbing my head up and down too! "The DR will call you" she finished.
WELL GEESH!~! you don't say that to a mom much less a RN who knows all kinds of ichy itis that can/could go/be wrong!!!
Thankfully the DR called right after I made it home and told me Jesse has pneumonia. We are to take his temperature and if it spikes he will be admitted. If not it is viral. She called in z~pack script.
Jesse isn't acting sick at all. As a matter of fact he wants to go to church tonight! If this was me I would be playing it for all it is worth and get a new toy out of the deal...rofl!!

Humanity

Where has the compassion gone? Why are things the way they are?

I was told about 2 little children dying because their family couldn't afford heat.
Then I hear about the 93 year old man that froze to death!

Can you believe this article said: "I've said this before and some of my colleagues have said this: Neighbors need to keep an eye on neighbors," Belleman said. "When they think there's something wrong, they should contact the appropriate agency or city department.""

Don't you think when they put a limiter on a house they need to explain it to the person INSIDE? and make sure they are of sound mind and can understand??
O then here is the icing on the cake!

DETROIT - It took three calls to Detroit authorities over two days before they recovered the body of a man frozen in ice in the elevator shaft of a vacant warehouse, a newspaper reported Thursday.
The news reported that people was using this building as a hockey rink and for months didn't tell anyone because they were afraid of getting in trouble.

WHY are things the way they are??
The Bible says:
Matthew 24
1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

You can go ahead and call me a fruit cake but just take a moment and say to your self "WHAT IF all of this IS true?? What do you have to loose? Nothing!! BUT you will gain everything if you Accept, Believe and Confess Jesus as your Lord & Savior.
John 3:16
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

LIFE

OK Let me bring everyone up to speed so we are all on the same page. Due to circumstances that just kinda "happened"we are now associate pastors at garden City Church of God.

They don't have a web site yet, but that will be shortly forth coming.

The building is under construction as My dh & son is tearing out the front and enlarging the platform. It should be done in 2 weeks give or take a few days. I will get pictures tonight.

ON February 21st I am holding our first scrap book night. We have a sign up sheet and 8 are game.

My niece who has a crickut is making the pages up. She put in the bulletin "You don't have to be crafty....We are crafty for you!" The pages are gorgeous.

We are telling people to bring in photos of what they do this Sat, Valentines day.

In the mean time. I am making door prizes. I made 4 tiny totes. They are not much bigger than a kleenex package. I am going to put little items from Michael's dollar bin in them. We are having light refreshments, which will probably turn out to be a food fest by the time I get done cooking......ROFL

What do you think?? have any suggestions?? Comments?? Want to come??

Cupcakes

Do you have one of these kids?? Did you think it would ever change??
Here is how the story goes:

Twas the night before school, when all through the house, everyone was tired even all of the mouse (rofl it had to rhyme!)
Mama had cooked, cleaned, done the PTA thing, taxied everyone to and fro their sports practices and was just settling down for a good nights sleep. When what do her disbelieving ears should be heard: "Mama I forgot to tell you BUT I need 5 dozen cupcakes for school tomorrow."
So up like a flash to kitchen she went, whipping out pans and cute little liners.............
You know how the rest goes, anyway Friday morning just BEFORE my twelve hour shift Joe said: "Mom I need you to sew these patches on by tomorrow" hmmmmm let me see when I leave for work and get off it already is TOMORROW! Yikes.
So I quickly took the old patches off and whipped stitched the new ones on.

Joe is now up a grade (see the extra bar??) and he changed colors because he is going from seaman to airman. (I think I got that right) All I know is that he passed the aeronautics test.

I am glad it wasn't cupcakes I had to make!

Burning the Midnight Oil

I was cleaning my sewing room last night and all of a sudden for some reason my Robyn Pandolf fabric flew off the shelf and said "It is my turn!" So I decided to use it to make my quilt. I cleaned my sewing machine and I was having a sewing frenzy when I realized I was 4 squares to short! So back to cutting. I then got the nifty idea to square my squares up, so to the calculator I went: 12.5 finished square divided by 5 blocks...hmmmmmm 2.5 inches! so away I went to trimming! Then in a flash it dawned on my: You idiot! It should be 2 7/8! O MY GOSH! so back to the cutting area I went. Re squared those HST up only to then realize I had sewn 2 of those wrong sides together! Well, This should be one fine quilt! I decided to show case my mistake and put those two wrong side fabrics right smack dab in the middle, so it looks like I intentionally did it....rofl.

I already got the mistakes out of the way and it's smooth sailing from here on out.
